Al Maktoum International Airport to Revolutionise the Travel Experience

The redevelopment of Al Maktoum International Airport promises to change the way passengers travel through Dubai.

When the airport’s new terminal is complete, travellers will no longer need to wait at baggage carousels. Instead, an automated system will allow luggage to be delivered directly to hotels or homes, offering unparalleled convenience.

Set to become the world’s largest capacity airport, Al Maktoum International will handle 260 million passengers annually. Cutting-edge features, including biometric systems, will ensure a seamless, paperless journey from check-in to arrival. The project is expected to redefine efficiency in air travel.

The ambitious redevelopment plan, spearheaded by dnata, will also introduce robotic technologies to manage baggage, aircraft turnaround, and airport logistics. The goal is to create a fully automated experience that eliminates queues and enhances comfort.

Opened in 2010, Al Maktoum International is currently undergoing its biggest transformation yet, with the first phase scheduled for completion in 10 years. Once fully operational, the airport will be five times the size of DXB, which is currently the world’s busiest international airport.
