Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph: A Celebration of Color

Introducing the latest chronograph models in Sand Beige, Dark Green, and Sky Blue high-tech ceramic, now making their grand entrance into the Spirit of Big Bang collection. Yet another effortless flex from Hublot, reminding everyone who’s the cool kid in the luxury watch block.

When Hublot launched the Spirit of Big Bang in 2014, it raised eyebrows. A Hublot watch that wasn’t round? Shocking. Still, this tonneau-shaped beauty stayed true to the brand’s DNA with its porthole-like design and unmistakable presence. Fast-forward to today and the Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph is still pushing boundaries – now with a splash of colour that would make a rainbow jealous.

For the first time, the Spirit of Big Bang lineup gets cases and bezels in coloured ceramic, a material that’s as tough as it is trendy. Sand Beige, Dark Green, and Sky Blue were previously exclusive to the Big Bang collection, but now they’re strutting their stuff in this trio of limited-edition watches. And when we say limited, we mean it – just 200 pieces per colour.

This isn’t just any ceramic, either. It’s hypoallergenic, lightweight, and scratch-resistant unless you encounter a rogue diamond, which is, frankly, a different problem. Whether you’re diving to 100 meters or casually brushing up against sharp edges, these watches are built to last.

Peek inside the Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph, and you’ll find the HUB4700 caliber, a modern evolution of the legendary El Primero movement. What makes it legendary? Oh, just the fact that it was the world’s first high-frequency chronograph movement, debuted way back in 1969. Fast-forward to today, and here we are with silicon regulating components for even better precision and that sweet, sweet skeletonized aesthetic. With 50 hours of power reserve, this movement is quite a workhorse with a pedigree. Plus, you can admire its intricate mechanics through the sapphire crystal dial and case back.

Matching the ceramic cases, the hour markers, hands, and chronograph counters all come in perfectly coordinated tones. Even the black rubber straps feature a central inlay that mirrors the watch’s colour. It’s like your watch got its outfit perfectly matched before stepping out of the house – and let’s be honest, we love that kind of effort.
