Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph: High-Frequency Elegance

Zenith's latest high-octane marvel blends cutting-edge technology, precision, and modern design, taking the Defy collection to new heights. This watch tells the time, makes a statement, and simultaneously salutes the brand’s most historically important horological legend.

The Defy collection has a storied past, with roots reaching back to the early 1970s. It has always been the perfect playground for Zenith's El Primero automatic chronograph movement. This high-frequency marvel provides unwavering precision, even in the most dynamic situations. The Defy Skyline Chronograph continues this tradition, equipped with the latest iteration of the El Primero calibre, now offering a 1/10th of a second chronograph function.

The 42mm steel case of the Defy Skyline Chronograph pays homage to the original Defy’s octagonal design, infused with a modern twist. It’s a masterpiece of architecture, with geometric facets that resemble a sleek skyscraper on your wrist. The multi-sided bezel, the sharp lines of the pushers, and the screw-down crown adorned with Zenith’s iconic star emblem all contribute to its robust and edgy look. With a water resistance of 100 meters, it's your perfect companion for any adventure.

The Defy Skyline Chronograph's dial is a stunner, available in metallic black, blue, or silver. It features Zenith's signature starry sky pattern with engraved four-pointed stars, perfectly paired with the traditional El Primero dial configuration. Three slightly oversized and overlapping counters display the elapsed seconds and minutes of the chronograph, along with the constant running seconds. The date window, matching the dial colour, is cleverly positioned at 4:30 – another signature of the El Primero lineage. The 1/10th of a second scale on the flange ring has twelve facets, mirroring the dodecagonal bezel and extending the hour markers. It’s all about those little details that make a big impact.

At the core of the Defy Skyline Chronograph is the El Primero 3600 calibre, a high-frequency wonder beating at 5Hz or 36,000 vibrations per hour. This mechanical feat offers a power reserve of 60 hours and is visible through the display back. The open star-shaped oscillating weight with bidirectional winding ensures efficient power delivery, keeping your watch running smoothly.

One of the watch's highlights for day-to-day wear is its integrated quick strap-change mechanism. With a simple button push, you can swap the three-link steel bracelet for the supplied star-patterned rubber strap with a steel folding buckle. No tools are required, just effortless versatility. Whether heading to a business meeting or a weekend adventure, this watch adapts to your style in seconds.
