The GPCI evaluates cities based on factors like livability, environment, accessibility, and cultural interaction, among others. Dubai’s dedication to maintaining pristine public spaces has played a pivotal role in securing this title year after year. The city’s cleaning operations are managed by over 3,200 engineers and supervisors, supported by a fleet of 855 specialized vehicles. Every day, these teams ensure that 2,400 kilometers of roads, 33 kilometers of water canals, and vast investment zones are spotless.
Dubai Municipality credits this achievement to the coordinated efforts of its staff and innovative urban management strategies. Last year, more than 2.5 million flowers and plants were added across the city, further enhancing its appeal as a green and inviting destination.
Despite a growing population – which increased by over 169,000 last year to reach 3.8 million – Dubai continues to set the standard for urban cleanliness. This commitment to sustainability and well-being aligns with the city’s broader goals of fostering happiness and quality of life for its residents.
