Dubai Marks Ramadan With a Series of Meaningful Initiatives

From special welcome stamps for tourists to breathtaking mosque illuminations, the city is creating a unique Ramadan atmosphere that highlights its deep-rooted traditions and innovative approach to celebrations. Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, Dubai’s Ramadan experience this year is designed to be both immersive and unforgettable.

One of the standout initiatives is the introduction of a special passport stamp for travelers arriving in Dubai. Featuring the #RamadanInDubai logo, the stamp is a symbolic welcome, reinforcing the city’s commitment to hospitality during this sacred time. The initiative, launched by Brand Dubai – the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office – aims to immerse visitors in the cultural essence of Ramadan from the moment they land. Tourists also receive a complimentary SIM card from Du Telecom, ensuring they stay connected throughout their visit. In addition, a QR code linked to a digital ‘Ramadan Events in Dubai’ guide provides information on cultural activities, community events, and festive markets happening across the emirate.

Beyond the airport, Dubai’s mosques are taking center stage in the city’s Ramadan celebrations. As part of the Anwaar Dubai initiative, several iconic mosques have been adorned with stunning light projections, turning them into illuminated works of art. This project, also spearheaded by Brand Dubai, merges art, technology, and cultural heritage, bringing a visually striking tribute to Ramadan. Among the mosques lit up for the occasion are Jumeirah Grand Mosque, Al Khawaneej Mosque, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Mosque in Al Hudaybah, and the Grand Mosque in Za’abeel. Their façades, minarets, and domes are now glowing with intricate designs that reflect the region’s rich architectural and artistic traditions.

The #RamadanInDubai campaign, launched under the leadership of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, ensures that the city’s Ramadan celebrations go beyond just religious observance – they become a vibrant expression of culture, community, and creativity. Whether it’s through symbolic gestures like the passport stamp or the mesmerizing illuminations that light up the city’s skyline, Dubai continues to set the stage for a Ramadan experience that is as meaningful as it is visually stunning.
