Mall of the Emirates to Introduce Smart Parking System

Mall of the Emirates in Dubai is set to roll out a new smart parking system, replacing traditional barriers with automatic license plate recognition. The upgrade is designed to improve traffic flow and reduce wait times, ensuring a smoother experience for visitors. Similar systems will also be introduced at City Centre Deira and City Centre Mirdif, though an exact launch date has not yet been confirmed.

The system will allow vehicles to enter and exit parking areas without stopping at gates. Advanced cameras will track the time spent in the parking lot, and drivers will receive an SMS or app notification with details of their parking duration and fees. Payments can be made through an online platform, offering a seamless and contactless experience.

Despite the change, parking fees will remain unchanged. Mall of the Emirates will continue offering four hours of free parking, while City Centre Deira allows three free hours. Shoppers who make purchases at select stores will have the option to validate their parking, extending their free time. City Centre Mirdif will continue to provide free parking without restrictions.

The move follows similar initiatives seen in other major shopping destinations, aligning with Dubai’s efforts to modernize infrastructure and improve convenience for visitors. By reducing congestion and streamlining the parking process, the system aims to enhance accessibility in some of the city's busiest retail hubs.
