Dubai Unveils Its First 3D-Printed Boat

Dubai has introduced its first-ever 3D-printed boat, marking a major milestone in maritime innovation. The 10-meter-long vessel, named Cyberfin, is made entirely from recycled ocean plastic, combining cutting-edge technology with sustainability.

The construction process took just six days and nine hours, a significant improvement over traditional boatbuilding methods, which typically require three to four months. In addition to being faster to produce, Cyberfin is also cost-effective, with a price tag roughly one-third of a conventional speedboat. The vessel has already been registered with the Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) and is designed to accommodate up to 10 passengers.

The developers behind the project believe that 3D printing could revolutionize the maritime industry, allowing Dubai to position itself as a global hub for 3D-printed marine solutions. With the capability to manufacture six to seven boats per month, this innovation could dramatically reshape the industry while promoting sustainability and reducing environmental impact.

Cyberfin’s debut comes just ahead of the Dubai International Boat Show 2025, taking place from February 19 to 23. The annual event will showcase over 200 luxury yachts and vessels from top international shipbuilders, including Azimut, Ferretti, Gulf Craft, Sunseeker, and Yachts One. This year’s edition will also introduce an Innovation Zone, highlighting groundbreaking advancements like 3D printing in the maritime sector.
