Taking place over two action-packed days, the event will feature various race distances to cater to all levels, from seasoned professionals to first-time participants. The competition kicks off on April 5, with the first race starting at 7:00 AM. Athletes will swim 3.8 km, followed by a 180 km cycling race and a marathon covering 42.2 km. The half-distance race will begin at 7:15 AM, while the Olympic and sprint distances will take place later in the day.
Sir Bani Yas Island, known for its picturesque landscapes, turquoise waters, and roaming gazelles and oryxes, offers a unique natural backdrop for the event, creating an unforgettable experience for participants. Australian professional triathlete Milan Agnew, competing in the 70.3 km race, commented that the island’s eco-friendly environment inspired her to start her 2025 season in the UAE.
Other participants are also eager to experience the island’s beauty. Yasser Rajab, a 49-year-old accountant from Jordan, is taking on his first triathlon and noted that the cooler temperatures on the island are a welcome change from the heat of Abu Dhabi. His friend, Syrian engineer Abdulwahab Al Mghrabel, is also competing and looks forward to enjoying the clean beaches while racing.
