A survey by JLL’s ‘Future of Work’ report found that nearly 48% of Middle East employers are considering adjusting salaries and benefits for those who work full-time from the office. Employees are also requesting enhanced health insurance, wellness programs, and allowances for housing, transport, and school fees to offset the rising cost of living. In addition, there is a growing expectation for high-quality office environments, designed with hospitality-style services and located near vibrant communities offering dining, shopping, and wellness facilities.
In response, some UAE companies are already adapting by increasing financial incentives and introducing family-friendly benefits such as childcare support and flexible work schedules. Many businesses are also investing heavily in wellness programs, offering fitness classes, mental health support, and digital wellbeing tools to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
With companies recognizing the need to “earn back the office commute,” the focus is shifting toward creating a workplace that balances professional productivity with personal wellbeing. As the UAE job market evolves, the ability to offer a competitive work environment will be crucial in attracting and retaining top talent.
