One of the world’s leading competitions in long-distance open-water swimming, Oceanman is expected to bring together a mix of professional athletes, amateur swimmers, and sports enthusiasts for two days of races along Sharjah’s coastline.
Participants can choose from a range of distances suited to various levels of experience. The 10 km swim will serve as the most challenging category, designed to test endurance and stamina. Swimmers with an intermediate level of training can opt for the 5 km race, while those seeking a lighter challenge may take on the 2 km distance.
For younger swimmers and families, the event will also include a 500-metre sprint and a 3×500-metre team relay, offering a more relaxed and inclusive experience.
The championship is being held under the supervision of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau and reflects the emirate’s wider push to promote sport, wellness, and international-level events. Organisers expect participation from across the UAE as well as international entrants, adding to the city’s growing reputation as a destination for global sporting competitions.
