Developed by Abu Dhabi City Municipality in partnership with the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, the beach introduces a range of innovative features designed to ensure that everyone can enjoy the coastline safely and independently.
Facilities include a guided vehicle drop-off service, tactile-paved walkways, Braille signage, and a rope-guided path to the sea equipped with bells for orientation. A designated lifeguard-monitored swimming area, Braille beach guides, and dedicated seating zones make the space more welcoming for all.
Other accessibility upgrades include floating wheelchairs, adapted toilets, water stations, and even the presence of a licensed nurse on-site during opening hours. The beach is open daily from 6am to midnight, with swimming allowed until sunset.
The initiative is part of a broader push for inclusive infrastructure in Abu Dhabi. In December 2024, the city also announced plans to install Seatrac systems – solar-powered motorised ramps for people with mobility impairments – across several beaches including Corniche Public Beach and Al Bateen.
This latest project reflects Abu Dhabi’s continued commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents and visitors, setting a benchmark in regional accessibility.
