Running until 30 April, the event showcases installations by renowned artists from the UAE and beyond, offering immersive experiences and exploring themes such as ecology, heritage, and urban life.
Among the highlights is 'Barzakh' by Lebanese artist Wael Al Awar, an interactive piece made entirely from recycled materials, designed to engage visitors in a sensory exploration of sustainability. Pakistani artist Seema Nusrat presents 'Floating Fragments', a visually striking installation that uses terracotta tiles to represent the threat of rising sea levels.
Emirati designer Farah Al Qasimi brings cultural heritage to life with 'Longing for Home', featuring oysters that play traditional melodies, symbolising the UAE’s pearl-diving history. Polish artist Paweł Althamer offers a touching tribute to stray cats in his thought-provoking work, while Iraqi artist Attar Jaber’s 'Purification' delves into humanity’s relationship with nature.
Other captivating projects include 'Water Drums', a sound installation merging aquatic elements with percussive beats, and 'Olive Grove' by Palestinian artist Khalil Rabah, featuring rotating olive trees that create an atmospheric, meditative space.
As much as it is a platform for art, PAAD invites locals and visitors to reimagine the role of creativity in everyday urban spaces, bridging the gap between art and community.
