At the heart of the festivities is the All-Star Global Concert, which will be held at Etihad Arena. The night will be led by jazz legend Herbie Hancock and hosted by Oscar-winning actor Jeremy Irons, bringing together a powerhouse of musical talent for one unforgettable performance.
The line-up includes an impressive roster of international artists: Dee Dee Bridgewater, Arturo Sandoval, Kurt Elling, Marcus Miller, Dianne Reeves, José James, and many others from the US, along with performers from China, France, the UK, India, Iraq, Australia, Morocco, and beyond. Representing the UAE is soul-funk artist Arqam Al Abri. The set promises to blend Arabic maqamat and traditional instruments like the oud and ney with jazz harmonies and improvisation – a soundscape that reflects the diversity and creativity of the region.
But the celebration goes far beyond the concert hall. Performances, workshops, and masterclasses will take place across the city, from Louvre Abu Dhabi and Berklee Abu Dhabi to NYU Abu Dhabi, public libraries, hospitals, and community spaces. The goal? To showcase jazz as a universal language that connects people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures.
