Emaar Unveils New Promenade Experience During Dubai Fountain Closure

As the Dubai Fountain undergoes a major upgrade, Emaar has introduced a new visitor experience to keep the Burj Khalifa promenade lively throughout the closure.

The fountain, one of the city’s most iconic attractions, is temporarily closed while extensive renovation works are carried out. In its place, Emaar is installing 500 metres of state-of-the-art digital screens along the promenade beside Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar. The immersive displays will animate the space with engaging visual content, offering a fresh way for visitors to enjoy the area despite the pause in fountain shows.

To support nearby restaurants and cafes affected by the dip in fountain-facing footfall, Emaar is also waiving rent for 50 outlets with lakefront terraces between June and September. These venues, normally packed with guests watching the evening performances set against the Burj Khalifa, will still offer spectacular skyline views – now with added digital entertainment.

Once upgrades are complete, visitors can expect more advanced choreography, sound, and lighting systems – enhancing what was already the world’s largest performing fountain. For now, the digital installation offers a temporary but dynamic experience in one of Dubai’s most visited locations.
