One of the highlights is the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls – an eco-friendly oasis led by DEWA, featuring cascading falls from the Hatta Dam. Surrounding the waterfall are retail and dining spaces, designed to enhance visitors’ experiences. Adding to the site’s uniqueness is a Guinness World Record-winning mosaic mural – crafted from over 1.2 million pieces of natural marble and spanning 2,200 square meters – which pays tribute to the UAE’s founding leaders.
Sheikh Mohammed was also briefed on additional DEWA initiatives, including a 250-megawatt hydroelectric plant, a 30-million-gallon water reservoir, and the Shams Dubai solar energy program encouraging rooftop photovoltaic systems.
In partnership with the private sector, Hatta is also set to debut Hatta Beach – a 53,000-square-meter development featuring a Crystal Lagoon, open-air cinema, food trucks, walking trails, and spaces for water activities. These projects aim to establish Hatta as a year-round destination that balances sustainable development with its natural mountain charm.
