Dubai Reports 15 Million Visitors in First 10 Months of 2024

Dubai has welcomed an impressive 14.96 million international tourists from January to October 2024, reflecting an 8% year-on-year growth, according to the Department of Economy and Tourism.

This surge in visitor numbers comes as Dubai solidifies its status as a global hub for entertainment, sports, and culture during the winter season. The city continues to host internationally acclaimed events like the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which set a new record with 2.7 million participants. Dubai has also been in the spotlight thanks to global stars – J Balvin shot two music videos in the emirate, while YouTube creator MrBeast partnered with Dubai’s tourism board for a special project.

On the hospitality front, Dubai has already added 2,700 hotel rooms this year, with plans to deliver an additional 10,000 by the end of 2025. Luxury properties like The Lana Dubai Dorchester Collection, SIRO One Za’abeel, and FIVE Lux JBR are among this year’s standout openings, keeping hotel occupancy steady at 78%.

The numbers affirm Dubai’s strong position as a leading global tourism destination, with Western Europe, South Asia, and Eastern Europe contributing the largest share of international arrivals.
