UAE Announces National Orchestra, Calls for Auditions

The UAE has unveiled plans to establish the National Orchestra of the United Arab Emirates, a major initiative to foster the country’s music and arts scene. Supported by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the orchestra aims to develop local talent and elevate the role of music as a bridge between cultures.

Open to individuals aged 18 and older, the auditions welcome artists from all musical backgrounds, whether Arabic or Western. Aspiring musicians and singers can submit their applications, including a recorded performance, via the official website, www.uaenationalorchestra.ae, by January 26, 2025. Successful candidates will join the orchestra full-time, receiving competitive incentives and opportunities to advance their craft.

The project emphasizes inclusivity while prioritizing the development of Emirati musicians, aiming to position the UAE as a hub for artistic innovation. According to Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State and Chair of the orchestra’s board, the initiative reflects the UAE’s vision of using the arts to connect with the world and inspire creativity on a global scale.
