Massive 'Dubai Walk' Project Announced

Plan includes 3,300km of walkways, cooling solutions, and green trails

Dubai is set to become more pedestrian-friendly with the launch of 'Dubai Walk,' a new project creating an integrated network of 3,300km of walkways. Announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the initiative aims to make walking a more accessible and enjoyable option across the city.

The project, which will begin in Museum of the Future and Al Ras, includes innovative cooling solutions in corridors and pathways to ensure comfort during the hotter months. It also features extensive infrastructure upgrades, including:

  • 110 pedestrian bridges and tunnels
  • 112km of waterfront pathways
  • 124km of green walking trails
  • 150km of rural and mountainous walking routes

This initiative aligns with Dubai's broader goals of enhancing sustainability and urban connectivity while encouraging healthier lifestyles for residents and visitors alike.
